Cruelty-free Healthy Aging (your essential guide to healthy skin aging)

When we talk about healthy aging, we don’t mean creams and serums marketed as anti-wrinkle miracles. We mean plant-forward ingredients that are suitable for all ages and skin types and genuinely aim to keep your skin HEALTHY. Boosting the skin’s collagen production, protecting it from the sun and pollution, and boosting elasticity and hydration levels. All of these things are factors that come into aging healthily. Nothing about looks, but all about how you feel. Let’s talk about the best ingredients for these and how to better nourish your skin.

  1. Ginseng

This root has been used in medicine and beauty treatments for thousands of years. It can help to naturally boost your skin's collagen production, protects from environmental stressors and is also a natural brightener as it inhibits negative melanin production such as sun spots and blemishes.

Our recommendation: Beauty of Joseon's Ginseng Essence Water. This is formulated with 80% pure Korean Ginseng Root Extract, as well as 2% niacinamide for extra power. It is amazing at evening out your skin tone and providing you with a natural glow.

  1. Vitamin C

This vitamin isn’t only essential for our immune system, but skin health too. It can be found in a variety of natural sources such as citrus fruits, coffee, rosehip etc.

Our recommendation: UpCircle's Facial Oil. This facial oil is made up of rosehip and coffee extract, both of which are upcycled. It's a powerhouse of natural vitamin C, making it perfect for both beginner and seasoned skincare users. It's super hydrating and brightening over time, giving your skin a natural boost in its collagen production.

     3. Green Tea Extract

Green tea is well known for being super high in potent polyphenols, most notably ECGC. It is a true antioxidant powerhouse, being good for you both when consumed and applied within skincare. It protects from UV free radical damage and inflammation and can be a real tool for improving your skin.

Our recommendation? Heimish's Matcha Biome Eye Patches. These eye patches are formulated with fermented matcha extract, making them perfect for rejuvenating the under eye area (as well as any other areas you want to target- it's not a one size fits all!). Tip: leave them in the fridge to also provide a cooling and de-puffing benefits especially after you wake up in the morning.

It's also important to note of other habits that can keep your skin healthy and nourished over time. Ensuring you wear SPF everyday is also a massive factor, as well as a balanced diet. What's important to note is that no one should be afraid of aging, only of not staying happy and healthy.
