Clear Glass Glowy Skin

The term 'glass skin' has been thrown about a lot all over social media and the internet in recent years, with certain products (and filters) going very viral, claiming to give you that beautiful, glowy, clear skin look. A lot of this is fancy photography, great editing, and products that simply haven't absorbed yet. Let's talk over some realistic tips and science backed vegan products that will help you get closer to your glass skin goals.

1. Stop switching up your routine

We're all guilty of it. There are too many new, flashy things to try, and we've stocked up on so much skincare that we want to try it all. But by trying new serums, toners and sun creams everyday all we're doing is damaging our skin barrier. On top of that, a lot of active ingredients need time in order to start working their magic. By switching up your skincare routine everyday, you're not giving each product a fair chance and therefore not seeing any long term effects. If you find a good product that works for you, stick to it! In the meantime, pick out a routine based on your skincare concerns and goals and use the same one every morning and night.

2. Invest in a good quality double cleansing routine

This is one of the simplest tips we can give. A lot of people don't even use a facial cleanser, let alone a cleansing balm or oil. However, water or a cleansing foam alone aren't enough to get rid of product build-up, sweat and daily make-up usage. Giving your skin the care it needs by investing time and money into a good quality double cleansing routine is one of the best starting points for clearer, glowier skin.

As a cleansing balm, we recommend Muihood's Good Chi Cleansing Balm. This one is formulated with ginseng, goji berry and soybean in order to keep your skin youthful and bouncy all year long, and deeply cleanse without feeling too stripping.

For the second step, your foaming cleanser, we recommend any of Arencia's rice mochi cleansers. The key ingredient in each of them is rice will help to brighten up your skin over time, with each one featuring other ingredients such as rosehip and hyssop. Have a read and figure out which one suits your skin.

3. Eat polyphenol rich foods

Polyphenols help to neutralise free radicals that cause premature aging. Therefore, eating foods that are high in polyphenols can help to prevent aging and give you glowier skin from the inside out. Some examples are: berries, dark chocolate, good quality olive oil and green tea, leafy greens and nuts.

4. Make use of skincare products that contain Vitamin C

Now, there are skincare products that contain high percentages of pure vitamin c, however these can be very harsh as a starting point. Vitamin C not only evens out blemishes such as dark spots and acne scars, but it also helps to boost your skin's natural collagen production, making it a powerhouse in anti-aging and overall skin health. If you want that bouncy, glass skin then incorporating products with Vitamin C is a must.

We recommend UpCircle's Peptide Serum and Facial oil. Both of these contain ingredients such as coffee extract, blood orange and rosehip which are plant-based and cruelty-free sources of natural Vitamin C, making them a perfect place to start.

5. Sunscreen every day

You've heard it before, and we'll say it again. Sunscreen every single day is a must! SPF 50, whether chemical or physical is a must to prevent aging as well as maintaining an even skin tone.

There's a reason Beauty of Joseon's Rice SPF is so popular, it's SPF 50, cruelty-free, vegan and rice based meaning you're getting extra brightening power. If the original is too thick for you, then their Relief Sun Aqua Fresh variant is perfect instead.
